Bringing Concert Home: Celebrating 50 Years

Conceived and Created by ANISA CAMERON and JEREMY PINCHUK

Celebrating 50 years of the JPPS-Bialik Concert Society, over sixty current and former students took us on a musical trip through JPPS and Bialik plays - from "Damn Yankees" to "Joseph" to "Cabaret", and everything in between.

The School approached us looking for a way to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Concert Society (the major annual fundraising event for the Schools). We batted some ideas around, and the director and I came up with the idea to invite back as many alumni as we could find, and put on a revue of past shows. It was especially exciting for me, having been a student there myself, to reunite with former classmates and recreate scenes and songs from years ago. As a designer, I was freed from the normal constraints of "theatre" - there was no specific era or setting that had to be created, it was all about the music and the atmosphere.
